Fooling The Eye

The quilts below were spotted at this year's FESTIVAL OF QUILTS. Any one of these images would fit this challenge perfectly (although they were mostly too big) but what a fantastic source of inspiration!

The next theme will be Fooling The Eye - any kind of illusion, optical illusions, 3D effects, transparency, impossible triangles, your imagination can run riot here...

CHALLENGE DATES! You can start sending your finished challenge entries to us in the New Year (the address will be posted at the end of this year) and the cut off date will be 30th May 2018. We are hoping to get these quilts out on tour as soon as possible, so if you have any ideas for suitable venues, please let us know.

PLEASE NOTE: This should be a FLAT QUILT - only the image should be 3-Dimensional. Please do not submit 3-dimensional items as we have no method of transporting or storing them

The quilt above was Helen Howes' 2015 Challenge entry - it will not be re-appearing, despite its good fit, but yours will

I have started gathering some images on a PINTEREST page CLICK HERE to view it. (If you don't have a Pinterest account I thoroughly recommend that you sign up for it. You will get free access to millions of images and ideas, totally invaluable!)

Quilts need to be 20 inches square and have a 4-inch sleeve for hanging, and a finished edge. Membership of Modern is essential, of course...
All quilts will be shown at West Country Quilt Show, possibly at other venues, and will be shown online, of course. You need to be happy for us to keep your quilt for 18 months or so while it goes on tour!
