Modern Quilt Group - Brenda Thomas
Here are some photos of a quilt I made for my son and his girlfriend. I think it would be called a Modern quilt.
They have both travelled a lot so I printed maps of the countries they had been to and their home towns. I used triangles to represent the mountains they'd climbed.
They liked Anna Marie Horner's feathers so I included some of those and that led me on to add some arrows.
I had to use the moustache fabric as my son has a huge moustache he is very proud of. It is quite a large quilt and it was hard work quilting it on my Janome 607.
I was nervous about free motion quilting as I didn't have much experience but I was better at it by the time I'd finished!
Most importantly, they love it and it's on their bed.
